I am delighted to announce the appointment of Alisa Balayan as the new Artistic Director of the Russian School of Ballet. Alisa has been working at RSB for a few years now and she contributes her vast wealth of knowledge and experience in instructing all levels of classical ballet students, as well as contemporary, jazz and modern disciplines.
Alisa takes on this new appointment at RSB as a natural progression in her career as a teacher and choreographer. Her amazing talent can be fully appreciated in her staging of the Sleeping Beauty ballet, with all the choreography being age-appropriate, including the 3 years old baby-ballerinas’ and the young adult’s choreographies.
I am particularly confident about delegating this key responsibility to Alisa because of the increased opportunities it will afford her to explore her talents as an artist and inspirational leader. It would also enable me to adequately focus on building and strengthening the overall functional and administrative structure of our school. Thereby making it the best of its kind – an all-encompassing citadel of ballet learning for all who are aspiring to excel in the art.
