The Russian School of Ballet’s Winter Camp Program will provide aspiring ballet students (9-11yrs) a rare opportunity for growth by working directly with highly-qualified teachers who come from the prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy, St.Petersburg, Russia.
In addition to a daily technique and conditioning class, focusing on building fundamental strength and artistry, students will learn about and watch a ballet. Led by professional faculty, students will build creativity, coordination, flexibility and strength as well as artistic expression. They will receive valuable lessons about anatomy, health and nutrition, ballet history and ballet vocabulary.
The 2 weeks session will culminate in a final performance Saturday, 25 August, 3.00pm, with all students taking part. The performance will give participants an opportunity to showcase the choreographies learned during the program. While all participants will be featured, the extent of one’s participation in the performance may be based, in part, on merit, student’s participation in class throughout the program, and artistic decisions involved in the performance’s planning.
