The same 300-year Russian training tradition behind the Bolshoi Ballet, now nurturing your child in Parkhurst and Illovo. Since 2009, we’ve watched shy 3-year-olds become poised, confident performers — boys and girls both welcome. Your child’s turn starts with one trial class.
Start Your Child's Ballet Journey in 3 Simple Steps:
Our classes are taught by Russian-trained instructors, including graduates of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg. This is the real thing.
Available at our Illovo and Parkhurst studios
There’s a moment — usually around week three — when something shifts. She stops looking at you for reassurance and starts looking at her teacher. Her arms go up. Her face changes. And you think: there she is.
Tippitoes is where that moment happens.
Through playful movement, imaginative games, and music that makes tiny feet impossible to keep still, your 3 or 4-year-old takes their very first steps into the world of dance. We’re not drilling technique at this age — we’re building something far more important: the belief that their body can do something wonderful. Coordination, flexibility, and rhythm all develop naturally, but what parents notice most is the confidence. The way they walk a little taller. The way they wave goodbye to you at the door instead of clinging to your leg.
One class a week. That’s all it takes to start.
By five, your child is ready for more than movement — they’re ready to learn. They want to know why. They want to get it right. And that’s exactly what PreBallet is designed for.
This is where we introduce the Ballet Floor Barre — a series of exercises done on the ground that build core strength, correct posture, and proper alignment from the inside out. It sounds serious, and in the best possible way, it is. But walk past our PreBallet class and what you’ll hear is giggling. What you’ll see is focused, bright-eyed five-year-olds discovering that their bodies are capable of things that genuinely surprise them.
Parents often tell us this is the year their child “clicked” with ballet. The year they started humming the music at home, or practising in the kitchen, or asking if they can go to class on the days they don’t have it. That’s not an accident — it’s what happens when structure meets genuine love for what you’re learning.
Two classes a week. Real foundations, real progress, real joy.
Think of Level 0 as your child’s body learning its own language — fluently, from the very beginning.
This is the stage where we do the foundational work that makes everything else possible. We maximise your child’s natural turnout, develop the flexibility their growing body is perfectly ready for right now, and build the deep core and back strength that will protect them for years of training ahead. We shape and strengthen their feet. We train their eye for musicality, their instinct for coordination, and that magnetic stage presence that makes an audience lean forward.
Every exercise has a purpose. Nothing is accidental.
If your child hasn’t trained with us from Tippitoes — this is the ideal place to start. Skipping Level 0 and jumping straight into classical ballet technique means missing the very groundwork Vaganova training is built on. It can be done, but why make it harder than it needs to be?
Seven to ten is a remarkable window. The body is ready, the brain is ready, and the love for dance is at its most natural. We meet your child exactly there.
Two-three classes a week. The best investment their dancing body will ever get.

Absolutely! Most of our students start with zero experience. Our teachers are experts at welcoming nervous beginners and making them feel comfortable and confident. That’s what trial classes are for—to let your child explore in a no-pressure environment.
For the trial, any comfortable clothing that allows movement is fine—leggings and a t-shirt work perfectly. Ballet shoes aren’t required for the first class. Once enrolled, we’ll guide you on the specific uniform for your child’s level.
We see this all the time, and our teachers are wonderful at helping shy children feel safe and included. We never push—we nurture. Many of our most confident performers started as the quietest children in class! Give it a few weeks, and you’ll be amazed at the transformation.
No! While we have an annual concert and special events, participation is optional. However, we find that most children LOVE performing once they experience the magic of being on stage!
We totally understand that dance might not be for everyone. We require one month’s written notice if you decide to discontinue. That said, many parents find that initial reluctance is just their child adjusting to something new—we’re always happy to chat through any concerns!
Yes! That’s exactly what our TRIAL class is for. Come experience our teaching style, meet the teachers, and see if RSB is the right fit for your family. Zero pressure, zero commitment.
Spaces are limited to 12 students per class to ensure quality individual attention.
