About Us
The Youth Russian Ballet Company (YRBC) was officially established in 2022. However, our story doesn’t begin there:
In the years leading up to our official creation, the YRBC has worked in collaboration with students from the Russian School of Ballet, and dancers from studios across Johannesburg, to produce numerous high-end youth productions per year.
With each performance, we continue to provide our participants with a rich understanding of what it’s like to be part of a professional ballet company. We believe that when dancers gain valuable performance experience in a respectful environment like ours, they can grow their confidence and develop a skill set that will aid them in reaching their full artistic potential.
In the lead-up to the performance, no leaf is left unturned. We help our company dancers grasp and navigate every part of classical ballet, from its rich history to its tantalizing music. We’ve seen our dancers grow in their performance and life experience by absorbing the atmosphere of being on stage while creating life-long memories and fulfilling childhood dreams.
In conjunction with their engaged participation (in a full-scale production), our advanced training methods aid dancers who seek opportunities in pursuit of a professional dance career.
With each new production, our repertoire as a company has grown more and more diverse. We aspire to capture the versatility and potential of youth performance dance.

Our mission is to bring the traditions of Russian classical ballet performance and production to the heart of South Africa.
To do this, we offer a world-class dance company experience that enriches the lives of both our youth participants and their families. Through our respectful and caring performance environment, we prioritize quality dance and help to empower our participants to reach their full potential, both artistically and in every aspect of their lives.
Our goal is to see our dancers grow in confidence and develop in style every time they step on stage.
Amazing school! Last show was amazing, not a single mistake, all dancers were very well trained even the very young ones. Very rare to find such professionalism yet all kids love to go. Thank you, Yana, Igor, Erika and all RSB instructors. Definitely recommend to anyone who would like to enjoy the ballet and still have a very professional level
